Welcome to The Janny Bee!

Dinner Once Again was a wonderful beginning – but over time, I realized the name and look didn’t quite capture the full energy and heart of what I wanted to share. And so, The Janny Bee was born: a fresh start, buzzing with everything you loved before – plus a little more joy, curiosity, and connection.

Here, you’ll still find posts about food, wellness, and life’s delightful surprises – but through the lens of someone savoring it all, one buzz-worthy moment at a time. I’m incredibly excited about this new chapter, and I hope you are too!

Oh—and a little life update: we adopted Penny on November 29, 2023. She and Joy are just like sisters—best friends one minute, wrestling the next!

About Me

I’m Janny B. Bencze—a writer at heart, a proud mom, and now, officially, the Queen Bee of this little corner of the internet. I live in upstate New York with my husband of over 30 years, our two amazing kids, and two quirky cats who keep things lively (and occasionally mischievous).

I’m a stay-at-home mom and help with our family’s small business. Writing has always called to me. I’ve dreamed of penning a novel, but plots and twists have a way of wriggling loose. Still, I’m always thinking about storytelling—so one day I thought, why not start a blog?

With encouragement (and tech help!) from my brilliant daughter Rachael, we launched the original blog in 2023. What began as a cozy spot to share meal ideas has blossomed into a creative hive full of stories, discoveries, recipes, wellness tips, and reflections on everyday life.

This space is always evolving, and I’d love for it to be a welcoming, comfortable place to gather—whether you’re looking for inspiration, connection, or just a good read.

P.S. We still miss our dear Mel terribly. He passed on October 30, 2023 from Large Cell Lymphoma at just 10 years old. He was a cherished part of our family, and I’ll love him forever.

Hello!  

   My name is Janny B. Bencze. My daughter Rachael (Ray or Rae) and I started this blog in April 2023. We live in upstate NY,. I am married to the man I have been with for over 30 years. We have 2 kids and 2 cats. Our son works with my husband and Rachael is a sophomore in high school. Our man cat is a big tabby with white hands, feet, and bib. Our princess girl is all black with a white chin patch, feet, little white bib, and tummy markings.  You may think her eyes look evil, but she is the sweetest little girl!

   I am a SAHM and do some office work for my hubby’s small business. I have always wanted to be a writer.  I have tried writing a book but can’t seem to create the correct plot. I am in awe of people who can come up with twists and turns. I want to be one of those people one day, but I just can’t seem to get it done. I am always thinking about writing.  So, I thought, “Why not try blogging?”  It is said that you should write about what you know. Well, I know it is hard coming up with new ideas for meals. Really hard sometimes! So, I am hoping that this blog will help me and anyone who happens upon it. I would love for it to be a comfortable place to share ideas, tips, and tricks. I’ll throw some health topics into the mix. Along with some gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, keto, and sugar-free recipes.

I could not have gotten this blog off the ground without Rachael’s help! She is amazing!

UPDATE – Mel passed away on October30, 2023 due to Large Cell Lymphoma. He was only 10. We are all heart broken beyond words. I will love you forever my previous baby boy.
