A Mother’s Love: a story worth the read or listen
I know, I know it’s not Halloween it’s almost Mother’s Day. The site I am about to tell you about is dedicated to spooky tales. I love this website and I love this story. A Mother’s Love from: www.themoonlitroad.com. The site is full of “ghost” and odd stories from the Southern United States. A Mother’s Love is a beautiful story of just how devoted we mothers are to our children. Past, present, and future. It may seem sad in the beginning but keep going. You’ll see what I’m talking about when I refer to “devotion”. A Mother’s Love can either be read or listened to.
Some of my other favorites from The Moonlit Road
A bizarre monster tale about a Georgia outdoosman attacked by a strange forest creature that only wants it’s “Taily-Po.” The woman who wrote and narrates this story is so talented and has an amazing voice.
An Alabama devil folktale about a young man forced to spend the night with a terrifying family. But are they really as evil as the townsfolk say?
An African-American slave folktale about a mysterious tree from Africa and the magic it unleashes on a cruel plantation owner.
Georgia folktale about a man meaner than the Devil himself, and the real place where Spanish Moss comes from.
Why do people hear chains rattling at night from Ibo (or Igbo) Landing? Find out in this ghost story from Georgia’s St. Simons Island.
There are many many more entertaining and thought-provoking stories on The Moonlit Road. I can spend hours on the site. If you love stories, southern folklore, ghost stories, or odd stories, this is the site for you. So, take a read or a listen. I hope you find one you love as much as the ones I do.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with The Moonlit Road nor do I know anyone who works or writes for them. I just adore the site!
