Some stories donโt need embellishment – they speak for themselves. This old Native American fable has been passed down through generations, offering quiet wisdom about the choices we make within. Iโm sharing it here just as itโs been told: simple, powerful, and timeless.
One evening, an old Native American told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, โMy son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil – it is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is God – it is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.โ
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, โWhich wolf wins?โ
The old man simply replied, โThe one you feed.โ
A quiet reminder for the season: which wolf are you feeding today?
