Campfire Burrito Packs: A Grilled Mashup Feast!

I found this recipe tucked in my files, and it still sparks curiosity. It might not be one I’ve tested yet, but every single ingredient is a crowd-pleaser—and together, they just work. Think of it as a campfire-inspired burrito mashup that’s made for summer nights, grilling, and easy cleanup.

You can roll these up into classic burritos, or get creative with burrito bowls and tortilla chips for a crunchy twist. When I finally give this a whirl, I’ll be sure to update the post with new photos—but in the meantime, it felt too good not to share! If you give it a try, I’d love to hear how it turned out.

Serves: 12

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sausages or hot dogs (6–7), cooked and sliced
  • 1 lb hamburgers (4 frozen pre-made patties), cooked and chopped
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper (any color), chopped
  • 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can corn, drained
  • 1 cup salsa
  • ½ cup taco seasoning (about 4 packets)
  • 12 large flour tortillas or wraps
  • Shredded cheddar cheese, for serving
  • Sour cream, for serving
  • Guacamole, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or campfire to medium-high heat.
  2. Cook hot dogs and hamburgers per package directions; slice into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, combine raw chicken, onion, bell pepper, black beans, corn, salsa, and taco seasoning.
  4. Cook the mixture in a skillet or grill-safe pan until the chicken is fully cooked.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a foil packet over the grill or near the fire.
  6. Assemble each tortilla with a scoop of the chicken mixture, some hot dog and burger bites, and top with cheese, sour cream, and guacamole.
  7. Wrap, fold, or bowl it up—best served warm by the fire!

Notes

  • Cooking indoors? Use a stovetop skillet or even a slow cooker for the meats.
  • Make it your own: Add lettuce, rice, tomatoes, or extra salsa for flair.
  • Gluten-free option: Use certified GF tortillas, taco seasoning, and hot dogs/sausages.

Have a delicious campfire feast!
